PVA Film

Today, the recycling of plastic products and the resulting environmental damage is a major issue. As the sole producer in Turkey, Istanbul Plastik takes satisfaction in developing and delivering PVA Films (Polyvinyl Alcohol Film, also known as Water Soluble Film), a novel and creative product in the packaging business.

PVA Film dissolves quickly in water and disappears spontaneously in nature due to its biological structure, leaving no waste, sediment, or residue.

Using water-soluble (PVA) films for hygiene purposes (laundry)

PVA Film is a favored technique of packaging and wrapping for health, hygiene, and safety reasons because it is non-toxic and does not come into touch with chemical items.

The applications are widespread, yet they are still evolving.

Water-soluble (PVA) films are utilized in a wide range of industries, including textiles, agriculture, construction, cleaning, detergent, and laundry.

The impact of chemical products on human health is minimal.

Benefits of PVA films:

  • When PVA Film comes into touch with water, it dissolves completely.
  • PVA Film produces no waste, sediment, or residue and is therefore nature-friendly.
  • PVA Film leaves no taste or odor in packaged products.
  • PVA Film protects human health by preventing dangerous chemical product interaction.

Using water-soluble (PVA) films in detergent packaging

Water Soluble (PVA) Films can be used for packaging water-soluble cleaning products such as laundry and dishwashing detergents. As it is biodegradable and water-soluble, it biodegrades on contact with water.

Using water-soluble (PVA) films in the laundry

Hospitals, hotels, and other similar establishments use Water Soluble (PVA) Films to limit the spread of filthy laundries and bacteria in surgical clothing by preventing hand contact. PVA films have excellent properties such as chemical resistance, organic solvent resistance, carbohydrates, and lipid resistance (vegetable oil, animal oil, etc.). In hospitals, Water Soluble (PVA) Film with adjustable heat is used to isolate workers from infectious clothing and equipment. PVA films are an efficient method of infection control in hospitals. They replace traditional methods such as laundry bags, burning, and burying. In washing machines, PVA film dissolves when it comes into touch with water. It is an ideal solution for risky hospital bedding, doctor and patient scrubs. During the washing process, the bag completely dissolves in water without harming or leaving a mark on the textile product.

Using water-soluble (PVA) film for dosing

PVA films are used for packaging products such as pesticides, fertilizers, additives, paints, etc. Thanks to the water-soluble PVA films, manual contact with these substances is prevented. Since it is biodegradable and water-soluble, it biodegrades in contact with water. It leaves no residue after dissolving in products with agricultural use such as fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides and fungicides. At the same time, the PVA bag prevents direct contact of personnel with the product as a safe packaging.

Using water-soluble (PVA) films in construction

In construction, water-soluble (PVA) films are produced in the form of packaging.

The cement stored in the water-soluble packaging is thrown directly into the cement mixer. When mixed with the water in the mixer, cement is obtained.

Alkaline and acidity-regulating materials in cement additives can normally harm the eyes and skin of operators. With this method, cement is added directly to the mixer, making it easier to use and ensuring the correct dosage.

Using water-soluble (PVA) films in agriculture (seed packaging)

PVA films are used for planting and growing plants, protecting seeds against adverse weather conditions and burying them in a certain amount of soil.

PVA films prevent the seeds of plants such as radishes, onions, carrots and all kinds of plants and herbs from scattering, spilling and mixing, and when the seeds in water-soluble film bags are dissolved by rain or moisture, the seeds will easily sprout and grow.

Using water-soluble (PVA) films in fishing (packabag)

The use of water soluble (PVA) films in fisheries (Packabag) has been produced to ensure that fish living in schools are fed without entering their habitats and that the dose amount remains constant for those who will be fed a certain dose per day.

PVA films reach from shallow waters to deep waters and to the deepest part of the water and are biodegradable. PVA bags are formed with the combination of PVA films. Where necessary (especially for carp and other fish species) the PVA nylon bag is perforated. The use of PV in fisheries is widespread, with the method of creating PVA yarn and PVA netting.

Using water-soluble (PVA) films in embroidery

PVA film is used as a stabilizer during delicate textile embroidery. The film is placed on the textile product to ensure stability during the process. This application is done once and after the desired pattern is given, the product is offered directly for sale without any disassembly or cutting.

Water-soluble (PVA) film does not leave any trace on the products applied in textile companies that embroider embroidery and does not change the color of the fabric. After the textile product is washed, the PVA under the embroidery is biodegradable.

The main advantages of PVA film in embroidery are:

  • PVA films provide stability in embroidery
  • PVA films prevent wrinkling and slipping of textiles,
  • PVA films are environmentally friendly,
  • PVA films reduce labor costs.
